Western Road
MADE Architecture begun a redevelopment of the former Q8 filling station site, bounded between Western Road and St Johns Road, in East of Ealing. The proposal was to provide a restaurant / community building with 4 retail units and 34 residential apartments.
In Detail
Due to the topography on the site, the retail servicing is situated road side with the main building being set back. The nature of the site has resulted in the building becoming introverted, with the building mass enclosing the courtyard.
The restaurant / community building located on the ground floor corner to allow itself to produce its own function in creating dynamic internal space and active frontages.
This aspiration this project remains to deliver a unified scheme that will boast the higher standards in architecture, design and sustainability.
